The Altar Guild is called to serve God in its ministry by assisting the parish priest
in all liturgical worship services, caring for the ornaments of the service, and
preparing the rubrics of the Eucharist in a centered, reverent and holy way in order
to preserve the sanctity of God’s presence in worship. Members of the Altar Guild
prepare the Altar and Church for regular services, holy days, and special seasons
such as Christmas and Easter. The Altar Guild is also responsible for the
preparations for weddings, funerals, and baptisms. Other duties of the Altar Guild
include caring for the linens, communion silver, and liturgical hangings which are
used in the various services.
