Acolyte Ministry

The acolyte ministry consists of youth and adults whose primary duties are to assist
the priest during the worship service. Their responsibilities include: carrying
crosses, lighting and carrying candles, carrying the Gospel book, handling the
offertory plates and elements of communion, and assisting the priest with the
setting of The Lord’s table. Anyone 6 th grade or older can serve. Acolytes wear
vestments during the services and generally serve one Sunday a month (plus any
special services). They are required to arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled
services. Carole Lea Johnson is the Acolyte Leader.
